| 1. To understand what warrants an emergency and know the location of the evacuation boards 2. To understand and demonstrate how to support the client’s airway safely in the water 3. To understand the workings of the pool evacuation board (headsupport and straps) 4. To be able to demonstrate how to get the board into the water 5. To be able to demonstrate how to safely get the client on to the board whilst in the water from the pool and pool side 6. To be able to demonstrate how to attach a client safely to the board using the straps 7. To be able to demonstrate how to safely evacuate a client from the water using the board 8. To be able to understand and discuss how to make the area safe following evacuation |
