After having your prosthetic limb/limbs made especially for you, your new life as an amputee will involve some challenging and learning moments where I will be involved in supporting your rehabilitation journey.
I work alongside the physiotherapist, where I will support you in both physical and emotional aspects, helping facilitate a smooth transition into using the prosthesis effectively.
I can offer support to an amputee in a range of areas;
- Assist with gait training
- Relearning daily activities in and around the house
- Encourage/support physical activities to regain strength and coordination
- Psychological support, reinforcing positive progress
- Community activities, introduce to adaptive sports
- Care of your prosthetic
- Limb hygiene and massage
Here is a story showing that being an amputee is not the end.
